SPECIAL DUTY SELECTION
Special duty is work that involves
tasks that are not usually accomplished or expected of employees. Because the
demands of such duty are different and not routine, assuring performance reliability
requires consideration of the employee's suitability to perform the special job elements.
Special
duty screening is based on the essential task elements of the new duty to be
performed. The psychological recommendation evaluates current emotional status
attributes suited to the new tasks and those that would be contraindicated. Where
considered helpful, recommendations include suggestions to clarify past performance, to
include problems and strengths that would enhance confidence in findings.
